A Shafik Hirji’s nominee (this time his son, Shafik Brown) is getting sued by the landlord at Las Vegas Boulevard South Premium Outlets for not paying rent. Big surprise. It has come to my attention that allegedly Shafik Hirji negotiates for up-front free rent and then bails when he actually has to make a full payment. I was told the same thing happened at one of their Furniture Fashions stores at the Boulevard Mall — in their back location near the Goodwill store, which is now closed and has been for quite some time.
I received information that the Furniture Fashions Store in Henderson at Sunset & Stephanie will be the next to close. As full rent starts there at the beginning of March (allegedly). The person claimed to be an employee.
Allegedly, Harry Marquis (nothing to do with the Marquis Aurbach Coffing law firm, the attorneys for the plaintiff) tried to get more free time or an extension before having to leave the premises, but the landlord refused and told them they had to get out.
